The ceramic double disc gate valves are used for abrasive alumina powder to solve abrasion problems.

The ceramic double disc gate valve is installed horizontally at the bottom of a cyclone, and the alumina powder is falling down to the bottom of the cyclone. The flow rate is 400kgs per day and the valve will be mostly closed and then open to let some powder through about every 10 minutes. The alumina powder particle size is D50 of 10um. The alumina powder will touch the inside body and disc when go through the valve.
