YFL hydraulic slow closing butterfly valves are installed at inlet of hydro turbine in hydro power plants to eliminate water hammer and protect the hydro turbine. There are expansion joints connected with the butterfly valves to adjust the total face to face during installation. And there are manual ball valves and electric operated ball valves in the bypass system. The electric operated ball valves will be opened first to reduce the pressure difference, and when the pressure difference achieves the set values, the butterfly valve will be opened automatically. The hydraulic butterfly valves will be closed quickly or slowly as request, and the closing time can be adjustable. The butterfly valve can be closed fast in first stage and then be closed slowly in second stage to eliminate the water hammer. The close angel of firs stage and second stage also can be adjustable as follow:
Open Time: 10-60S for sizes ≤DN1000; 20-120S for sizes ＞DN1000
Slow Closing Time: 2.5-60S for sizes ≤DN1000; 6-90S for sizes ＞DN1000
Quick Closing Time: 1.5-15S for sizes ≤DN1000; 2.5-30S for sizes ＞DN1000
Close Degree: 75°±10° for quick close, 15°±10° for slow close
The hydraulic slow closing butterfly valves can be operated with counter weight or intelligent accumulator as request. All the whole process of open and close operation can be controlled by the PLC and remote control center.
