When there are abrasive solid particles in the mediums, the soft seat of ball valve like PTFE, Nylon, Devlon will be worn out quickly. The metal seated ball valves are designed to solve the abrasion problems caused by abrasive mediums. The seat of ball valves are changed from soft material to hard metal material. And both the ball and seat of metal seated ball valves are overlaid with different hard alloy like stellite 6, Ni60 and tungsten carbide coating to be wear resistant against different mediums.
To achieve excellent metal to metal sealing performance, the ball and the seat of metal seated ball valves are grounded to each other to make sure the sealing faces match perfectly.
The body of the metal seated ball valves can be LF2 for cryogenic service, WC9 for high temperature working conditions , WCB for non-corrosive service at normal working temperature and CF8 for corrosive service.
